Facing the challenge from the ends of the world
With an aim to contribute to the capacity building efforts in the polar research community and to expand its international research network, KOPRI annually selects and supports scientists focusing on Arctic and Antarctic regions. Interested researchers are invited to propose a joint research project to be conducted in collaboration with a KOPRI scientist, and once the fellow is selected, KOPRI supports the fellow to visit KOPRI campus to materialize their research plan.
Depending on the applicant’s country of origin, the fellowship is offered in one of the following two programs; the Asian Polar Science Fellowship Program and the Arctic Science Fellowship Program.
A key element of the fellowship program is that each participant should work with a cooperating KOPRI scientist. If you are considering applying to the program, the first step would be to contact a KOPRI scientist with your research proposal.
